Sreekar Voleti

Hi! I'm a data scientist based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I have 6+ years of experience in analyzing complex data to extract insights to drive decisions and understanding of real-world problems.

I currently work as a Senior Data Scientist in the Sport Performance Lab at Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE), where I work at the intersection of sports analytics and athlete biomechanics research. My interest lies in leveraging modern statistical and AI/ML tools in the analysis of athlete tracking data to optimize player and team performance. I work closely with many of Toronto's major league sports teams, including the Raptors, Maple Leafs, and Toronto FC.

By training, I hold a PhD in theoretical physics. In my days as a physicist, my research focused on the emergence of exotic states of matter due to quantum mechanical interactions between magnetic ions. 

In my spare time, I like to rock climb, play chess, and more recently, learn new pieces on the piano!
